How to surf and stay fit during winter: SurfSet work out

We first got on a surfboard in Hawaii and then we had a couple of other surf lessons in Costa Rica too and we got kind of hooked. Since in Montreal is a bit tough to practice this sport because of our long winters, here is an excellent work out option for you:

One of neighbors owns a Pilates/Surf Set studio in Griffintown and she invited us to try one of her “Indoor Surf Set” classes. We already practice Yoga twice per week (Tuesday’s and Sunday’s) but we wanted to try something different and fun at the same time. A couple of weeks ago on a Monday night we tried our first Surf Set lesson and we were not dissappointed at all.

This is an excellent full body work out, you’re going to sweat and burn a lot of calories, while focusing on stability and core strength. Imaging yourself doing planks, downward/forward facing dog poses, push ups, squats and sit ups on a surfing board that balanced on an exercise ball instead of a regular flat surface. Penny and Marie Christine (Instructors) will pout your stability to the test for about an hour, Surf Set  gets away from the traditional static workouts and challenges your body in new ways with fun, extreme surf/yoga intervals .

The class goes by really fast mostly because you are constantly in motion and you are having fun at the same time. At the end of the class you’ll feel really good about yourself.

We highly recommend this class, so don’t wait and sign up now!!!
