Coffee Shops

La Bête à pain, Griffintown

On weekends, especially on Sundays, we love to grab a coffee somewhere in the middle of the afternoon. So last Sunday, we decided to head to this new place in our neighbourhood. La bête à pain Griffintown is located on Young street (right behind the new Must store) by owner Marc-André Royal (ex Express and 357C) who also owns the St-Urbain restaurant and the another Bête à pain in Ahunstic.

Appart from being a fabulous bakery, it is also a place where you can sit down, grab a coffee and eat. We tried the croissant and chocolatine and they were amazing. We havent tries the meals per say, but as I was looking in my neighbours plates, they seem to have interring options (mainly sandwiches, soups, salads, breakfasts and deserts of course). The place is luminous with huge windows, different vintage tables, high ceilings and bright colours. It really is a cozy environment where you could just send the whole day wiping your coffee… And at the center of the place, you can see people in action, baking and selling delicious breads and pastries.
Clearly a new hangout spot as the place was crowded with young vibrant people!
